Functional dyspepsia

Some 10 months ago, i had a "bad indigestion" that last for weeks. The gastroenterologist did endoscopy & there were no sign of reflux or ulcer. The doc.diagnosed as functional dyspepsia, he even ruled out H.Pylori. I was prescribed Ganaton & Famodine, to be taken before each meal. The problem is the medication does not work all the time..the feeling of early satiety afer a smal meal, bloating & belching makes me very uncomfortable & difficult to stay focus at work.
I wonder if this medication work for anyone of you or probably the medication is not right for me. Any suggestion to manage this disorder would be welcome.
p.s. During the last 10 months, the symtom comes & goes w/o any apparent reason. This is very frustrating.

i had the same understanding as you..yeah the brain & stomach not in sync. at least that is what read in most article.
like yourself i have lost some weight too, i seem to eat less & smaller meal but more frequent. heavy meals give me much discomfort later.
since my diagnosis, i have missed a lot in live especially on the great food i used to enjoy. i just have to stay away from them for fear of another attack.
i'll try your home remedy & see if it works.
i see the Desipramine you took is quite similar to famodine another type of antidepressant i used to take.... it sort of relaxes your muscle but i don't take it frequently as i don't see the benefit of it.

I know I sent you a private message, but for the benefit of other, I'll post what has helped me.  I was also diagnosed with FD.  I had the endoscopy and ultrasounds to rule out anything else.  The medicine I take is Desipramine.   It's  actually an antidepressant .  It has helped a lot but has not cured me.  It just lessons the severity and frequency of my FD episodes.

This is the 2nd time I tried to medicine.  The first time I stopped it after it caused constipation, but I decided to try it again.  The constipation was only temporary.

I find no OTC meds bring relief, but chopped ginger root and honey (take it by the spoonful and chew it well) brings relief.  Also, chamomile tea is very soothing.

FD is horrible and it has actually caused me some depression.  Even thought the doc tells us there is nothing else wrong, I can't help but still worry.  My gastro do told me that FD has a brain - gut connection.  He said we have many nerves in our gastro tract and sometimes the nerves do not communicate well with the brain.   At least that's how I understood it.

I have lost weight since my diagnosis.  Has anyone else lost weight?

I was recently diagnosed with dyspepsia also, just lazy gut my GI called it.  I also have colonic inertia so they are still running tests on gallbladder, etc.  I also get the feeling of satiety early, bloating.  In fact my husband calls my stomach a "chia pet" after I eat.  You can literally watch it grow.  I go from a size 4 to 8 on any given day.  My doctor just put me on domperidone, which is experimental and you can only take it for 3 weeks.  So far, nothing yet.  Have not heard of the meds that you are on.  Also, what is H. Pylori?  Do you also have severe back pain with stomach pain?  Is it worse at night?  LIke you my symptoms are not constant, but the belching is constant.  I have started eating little meals and snacking on crackers, etc. during the day.  No red meat, no bread, pizza, etc.  No bulky food and it seems better.  Guess it can digest just a little at a time.  Hope you get relief soon.  Any suggestions are also welcomed.
