DON'T LET THEM REMOVE YOUR GALLBLADDER!
I am really pleased to find the original post but, the responses are quite horrific! Or, these are american responses - there is nothing wrong with your gallbladder!
Your symptoms, and mine, tell a body that something is wrong but, gallbladder don't simply 'stop working'!
Find the true cause of your dis-ease, and attend that. Do the obvious things - INVESTIGATE the foods you eat, GO ORGANIC, regardless of what you find, DRINK HEALTHY WATER, and so on.
I came here because I was investigating the use of FISH GALLBLADDER in treating eye conditions. Finding human gallbladder problems amongst the responses, still surprised me but, it makes great sense.
DON'T REMOVE YOUR GALLBLADDER - FIX IT!
I had a non-functioning gallbladder earlier this year and it was removed a few months ago. Since then I've had eye issues and finally saw the eye doc and was told I have chronic dry eye. He said I need to have my thyroid tested, as dry eyes can be a symptom of a thyroid issue. He asked if I had any other medical issues this year and I told him about my gallbladder. He said that sometimes the thyroid can be the cause of the gallbladder issue, or that they can be linked. So....it could be our thyroid causing both! I'm talking to my primary now about getting my thyroid tested. However a simple google search did reveal that yes, thyroid issues can cause gallbladder issues and eye issues. Get your thyroid checked.
I too have had horrible gallbladder problems for months now---in fact, pain at the sight and in the shoulders. I have even done gallbladder and liver flushes---nothing had helped. Then, a little over two weeks ago I knew that I had to do something drastic or I was headed toward having it removed and I DID NOT want surgery. So, started doing daily coffee enemas. I can't even tell you what this has done for me. I noticed today that my vision is clearer---how strange is that. I have no pain at all, anywhere. I hate writing about this but for anyone with gallbladder issues you have a choice 1) surgery OR 2) enemas.
Even though this post is 4 years old I'm so glad I ran across it. I too have gallbladder problems, runny and red eyes. The ultra sound and hida scan came out normal. But after telling my GI doctor all of my symptoms, I've been experiencing for the last few years, he says it's my gallbladder. I have 2 choices, have my gallbladder removed and take a chance that I won't have more problems after it's removed, or continue eating low fats.
as a contact lens wearer i was having problems with dry eyes for months before my gallbladder problems were diagnosed - when i got ill i got jaundice and by that stage my eyes were so dry i could not even get lenses in! (they would not stay put for a single blink) as time went on they got even dryer i work in an opticians and one of our optomistrists said there is a possible link although the consaultant at the hospital poo pooed the idea - after i had my gallbladder removed it was a few months untill i could get my lenses in 3 1/2 years later i can only wear them occasionally and for 5 hours max - so i keep them for special occasionans now. i actually do believe there is a connection although no one seems to know why.
Hello....I can't believe your post! Finally I found someone else who has gall bladder problems and eye discomfort!!!! I could not find anything on the internet with regard to this. I have been having gall bladder symptoms for 18 months...just now, it has been recommended to do a hida scan. I have been experiencing not only dry eyes (which my eye doctor said was severe) but red burning eyes that tear frequently...to the point of running down my face. My eyes are constantly red. I also have heat sensations in my head frequently (like a hot flash)....do you experience this as well?
PLease get back to me if you would....and let me know what other gall bladder symptoms you may be experiencing. I am very hesitant to have the hida scan despite my suffering. I am told there is much discomfort with it.
Thanks....hope to hear from you.
