Gas and Bloating symptoms

I've been having stomach problems for the past few days and I've expierenced with gas and bloating, diahrea I know I've been stressed alot and I have bad anxiety problems I feel like I can't even function anymore. I was wondering if this is a form or IBS. Also, I'm afraid to go to my doctor about it because I don't want to take some painful test

This is just my feeling, but if I were you, I would attribute at least part of your symptoms to your high stress levels. It would probably only be considered IBS if you had the symptoms regularly, which I'm assuming you haven't? In any case, the best I could suggest for now is to be kind to your body by eating as simply and nutritiously as you can and monitor your progress. If your symptoms worsen over the next day or two, the doc might be your best option, and I don't think you would be subjected to any majorly invasive or "painful" tests. They might take a blood or stool sample at most and go from there. Try to push away any negative thoughts by repeating something positive to yourself, like " everything's going to be okay". Even if you don't believe what you are saying, say it anyway, you know, "Fake it til you make it"! It wqrks for me. Best of luck to you :)

A holistic practitioner is a doctor that looks at a lot of things that a regular doc doesn't, more of an indepth look at your overall health. They can look at your blood/stool/urine and test for deficiencies in vitamins/minerals, whether or not you are absorbing food properly, if you might have food allergies, whether or not your prescriptions are causing your symptoms,etc.... They can "heal" you by finding out WHY you are sick and fixing that by helping your body heal ITSELF instead of giving you yet another prescription "crutch" to lean on. Find someone you trust. Go online and read about a local naturopath or look under "holistic practitioner" in your phonebook and see if they have a website you can read. It makes sense to do this. Medical doctors can only do so much for you before you are forced to try something that works in the long term. They can not fix you. They can only address your symptoms, and that usually means writing a prescription that only hides your problem.

What is a holistic practitioner? do they do colonics? if so I'm not having that done, nobody is asleep for that. I'm sure there is other natural stuff that I can be treated for. I do need a custom diet to get my digestion on track. I believe I'm lacking alot of vitamins and minerals I do take a multivitamin but it's not the great kind it's called Daily vites. I'm also taking antidepressants for depression and fish oil pills for cholestrol and birth control.

I don't want to take no more prescription drugs because of the side effects that would be the worse thing for me which you are right. I will definately read about this kind of treatment and thank you for that and your advice. I hope some of these drs. can take my medical coverage. This happened to a friend of mine a year ago he was on bland foods for 8 weeks then he went back to normal food and it was fine. Also, he's around my age and he did have a colonoscopy and the drs. couldn't fine nothing.

At this point, may I suggest you see a holistic practitioner/ naturopath? These are professionals who have earned an MD and can diagnose and treat you through a natural approach. They can create a custom diet for you and get your digestion back on track. The fact that you can't and don't eat enough raw/whole food is a concern. Part of your anxiety may stem from the fact that you are severely lacking important vitamins and minerals in your diet, and it is causing a whole bunch of problems for you. See, a traditional med. Dr. can diagnose you, but they are not as likely to treat you successfully without a prescription, and I feel that most prescriptions are unnecessary and can cause even more problems. Please read up on this type of treatment. I believe it may be your best hope. P.S. You can ask if they accept your insurance first. I think most will.

I know poor Teapot, yes I'm a ball of nerves and it has becoming a vicious cycle for me. I'm going to call my mother's family doctor tomorrow to see if she's taking new patients I'm glad she takes medicaid and Medicare as I have both. I do try to eat healthy and I've cut back on meats but I'm afraid if I eat anything healthy like salad it's going to go through me. I wished I had oatmeal I only have cream of wheat. I'm also afraid to eat any kind of fruits accept for bananas. I still feel that I should have a colonoscopy to make to see if it's IBS or calitus which my granny had. I know at times I get constipated as well it could be IBS.

My mother told me today that It's not good to keep going to the doctors for the same problem. I'm sorry I know my body if something isn't right I'm going to do something about it. She told me to try Beano and I don't think that worked for me

Poor teapot, you sound like a ball of nerves. It is a vicious cycle, the worry, the bad feelings that manifest themselves in the form of physical illness, then the worry again... But, if you take the necessary steps to stop the cycle of worry, you will be miles ahead of your anxiety. Yes, a new Dr. might be in order, but beyond getting a colonoscopy and a yearly checkup, if you are eating healthfully and getting enough sleep, your body will be healthy for the most part and you don't need to assume the worst. I'm not sure what your chances of colon cancer are with the relatives you have listed, but one thing you can do to help yourself is to cut out eating meats with nitrates, such as most lunchmeats, hotdogs, sausages and bacons. Get enough healthy fiber from nuts and whole grains, including oatmeal. Have green vegetables and apples every day. Keep your digestion moving along and colon cancer will be much less likely.

I'm glad I went to the doctors to find out my stomach woes and my doctor won't send me for a colonscopy because I have to be 50 and I'm 33. I may get a new doctor because I should have one, I told her that I lost a second cousin to colon cancer and my great granny of stomach cancer and my dad's sister had cancerous polyps. My mother had one few months ago and she is fine, my dad refuses to get one which he should. Also, I do notice when I eat pasta sauce on my pasta it does give me gas or upset stomach, I also have a hard time with milk I'm probably lactose intolerant.

At least you know what a panic attack it's like and it's not fun and I know when I get panic or anxiety attacks it does aggrevate my stomach sometimes. I'm glad that it doesn't scare you know more.

So glad you found the source of your stomach woes. There is always an answer if you look hard enough, and that applies to all of life's many challenges. I also have anxiety off and on, but when I feel the panic  setting in and my heart starts racing, I just smile big and pretend I'm riding on a roller coaster and experience it head-on. Then it leaves just as suddenly as it came, and I'm in control of the situation. It doesn't scare me anymore, so it loses its power.

Thank you for you advice and I did go to the doctor today and I did give her a poo sample and she said it was the stomach bug and there is no blood in my stool that's a good thing. She also told me there is a stomach bug going around and she had some patients that were having the same symptoms and being sick with this for about 4 days or more. She told me to have a bland diet with bananas, toast, rice, apple sauce, pasta without sauce and drink alot of water, gingerale and I can have gaterade and I have to avoid diary products. She also said that I take immodium which does help and I know the hot weather here in Rhode Island isn't helping at all and my anxiety attacks which I did have on the way to the doctors

It's anyone's guess what is causing your symptoms. I would get checked for overgrowth of candida  or h. pylori( bad bacterias that cause digestive problems). If you give a stool sample, you can be checked for that, or also for other microbes or parasites that could be present. If those come back negative, I would think that your symptoms could be caused by a domino effect of stress and something you ate last week that irritated your GI tract to the point that now no matter what you eat, it isn't digesting well. First get checked out medically, then try a bland, simple diet for a while and eat small, regular meals. I think that the color of your stool indicates incomplete absorption, and the mucus might come from your GI tract. I think it might be secreting mucus as a response to the irritation it is experiencing.
