Gastritis question

I have had stomach pain for 10 years and several endoscopies( the last one was a little over 1.5 years ago). Over the years my endoscopies have ranged from normal to moderate gastritis and my most recent one showed almost no gastritis and I aslo show no barrett's.
This whole thing stresses me out but I don't like running to the doctor every time stuff flares up as I have in the past because half of the time the endoscopies are normal and the other times they show mild gastritis at best( only once had moderate gastritis).
My concern is how often should I have endoscopies done? I worry about damage and cancer and the last 5 years I have had more throat pain and throat tightness when I do get a flare up. My GI seems very laid back about this and I wonder if my stuff just isn't that alarming or if my current situation doesn't really increase my risk of cancer or anything. My doctor has never warned me of any cancer risks and when I have asked she answers me with a very " your worrying for nothing" view point.
Do flare ups irritate the throat when gerd patients have them? is this normal for gerd patients?
Just trying to get perspective. Thanks

It's weird, I can remember 1 flare about 2 years ago and think I might have felt a feeling of a burned area that feels like its low in my esophagus and on the left side. I just wondered if gerd patients experienced this,
Like I said, my doctor who is very respected in my city as a gastro is not really concerned so I was just trying to get feedback as i'm a bit of a control freak and a worrier.

There's no 'standard' time for flares. It's going to depend on your body and how it responds to what you're doing for it, or not doing for it. You may want to consider starting and staying on a GERD-friendly diet. In addition, you also might want to consider doing some food intolerance testing. Some people who have off-and-on problems with acid are actually reacting to specific food groups.

Symptoms of acid problems are not standard either. Some individuals have no symptoms at all and are very surprised when they have what seems like a horrendous problem only to find out they have damage that indicates it's been going on for year. Some have severe symptoms and when they're scoped there's nothing to be seen.

off and on on meds( mostly on). I only go gerd friendly when i'm having a flare up.
I just talked to my gastro 4 weeks ago and I was put back on nexium because prilosec doesn't work as well for me. She said she would schedule another endoscopy but when She realized I had had one within the last 1.5 years she said it wasn't neccessary.
I mainly wonder if people who have gerd probably worse than others experience burning spots in their throat when they have a flare up, tightness, etc... How long do most flare ups last for people?

Have you been on meds all this time, or? Are you following a GERD-friendly diet and lifestyle?
