Green Colored Bowel Movement

I had upper left pain in my stomach for several days followed by a lite green bowel movement for several days.  What could this be

Bright green bowels (if not diarrhea) may be from iron supplements, maybe vitamins, or some artificial color in drink or icecream...

If he has lose stools, he should have a stoll test for Clostridium difficile toxin, bacteria (salmonella) and parastites (giardia).

Green stool may be from artificial color in some drink or ice cream, or from medicine, like iron supplements.

If the stool has a specific barnyard smell, then it can be Clostridium difficile infection. Green stool is also in salmonella or giardia. Green diarrhea can be from any reason, where gut motility is increased, and bile doesn't have time to be re-absorbed in the intestine.

So, if you think, it's not from food or medicines, you'll need a stool culture test.
