Can anyone tell me what this could be?
Around October 4th I began to have a gurgling stomach (which hasn't stopped to this day). It wasn't the normal growling from being hungry, it was different.
I went in for a physical after this started happening, because I was nervous. On an empty stomach, I was giving a flu shot, rocephin and zythromycin (had to fast for the physical). I ate Chinese buffet after I took all of those drugs - not smart. That night, I began to have really dark, tarry diarrhea that lasted for a week. This was all during a time of high stress and anxiety. My company was going through job cuts and I was worried that this stomach issue was either Cancer or HIV. All STD tests came back negative. I had to more HIV tests nine weeks later (Elisa and PCR test). Both came back negative. I was worried about STDs because a week before my stomach started gurgling, I had protected sex and unprotected oral with a female I just met. But all tests have come back negative, so that rules out STDs. I had heartburn up until I began to realize that it is not HIV, so I believe stress has had an effect on my GI as well. The heartburn is now gone.
I went in for a colonoscopy and endoscopy and am awaiting the biopsy results, but the GI said everything looked good, with a little stomach irritation from maybe a virus that is running it's course. I should have the biopsy results back in a week or so.
My stomach has been gurlging non-stop from top to bottom since October. Almost like there is gas trying to get out either through the top or bottom.
Now, I don't so much get the bloated feeling, but my stools are loose and almost a grainy texture. Somtimes they come out pencil-thin like, sometimes fibery looking, rarely do I have full blown diarrhea.
I have lower abdominal discomfort around my pelvis area, and lower back pain right above my gluteus (cheeks) on both sides. Sometimes when I lay down at night, my stomach hurts if I lay on either side.
What on Earth do I have? Could it be some sort of stomach bug that I caught from somebody? Remember the gurgling started before the antibiotics.
I am so worried...
