iv got pain on my left side under my ribs could this happen if ur exsperiencing anxity?

I was and still am experience the exact pain, (left side under my ribs).  Are you having any other issues?

I went to the doctor because I had the pain on my left side under my ribs, mucus and blood in my bowels (occuring about 3 times a month).  I had to have a colonoscopy.  He said I had severe chronic proctitus with mild activity.

Sorry, my bad, I was using an abbreviation for a common digestive issue known as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).  There is a forum on medhelp about this digestive issue that you may want to check out.  It will give you the information about what it is and what kinds of things help improve the condition.

IBS can start an any age for any reason.  Stress is a very common factor.  The kind of conventional medical doctor that treats IBS is called a gastroenterologist, or a GI.

i know this might sound stupid but what is IBS? i only started getting all this when i stoped smokeing.

Yes, anxiety and stress can make you feel pain in the location you're describing.  Your descending colon is on the left side of your abdomen.  The pain you're describing is usually in the descending colon.  I get this pain for the same reason.  It is common with IBS.
