wrong! HIRSCHSPRUNGS DISEASE is the lack of ganglion cells it REQUIRES surgery to fix sometimes the whole large intstine is affected. this disease will not kill ur child only in rare cases. depending on the severity ur surgeon may take different routes my daughter had a bag for a year had her pull through and then has surgery once a year for a new cecostomy tube to assist in bowel movements daily. it is not just over with after surgery uless ur not so bad
Hirschprung's disease itself only means, that an end part of the colon is not innervated properly, what leads to constipation or diarrhea. In severe cases, affected part of the colon has to be surgically removed, and no other problems are expected. This disease alone is not a life threatening one.
It is important to know, if other inborn diseases co-exist, which occurs quite often.
