How to add protein to Almond Milk for 4 yr old?

My daughter has been battling with constipation since her infancy.  The Dr. had changed her regular formula to soy and her constipation issues were gone.  At the age of one when she was put on cows milk the constipation issues returned.  After struggling with on and off constipation I had put her on soy milk at the age of 4.  Now, about 4 months later since I put her on soy milk I learned of the high estrogen content.   I am concerned about this and wish to remove her from soy and try almond milk (she has no tree nut allergies).  My concern is almond milk has very little protein.  What should I give her to provide her with enough protein that cow's milk has?  Do I give her protein pills?  Are there any side effects of almond milk?

Thank you so much for your comment.  I have never heard of casein.  I just thought it was cow's milk overall constipating my daughter.  Would you know if I give her protein power in almond milk is that equivalent to protein content found in cow's milk?  If you do know of any brands of protein powder that are natural than chemically combined, I will go to an organic store to find out more as well.  Thank you.

The issue your daughter may be dealing with might be an intolerance to the protein - casein - in dairy. If that's the problem, you'll have to make sure that anything she consumes does not contain casein, sodium caseinate or any other derivative of casein which is found in ALL forms of dairy from any animal.

You might consider adding some protein powder to the almond milk. And make sure the almond milk doesn't contain casein - some brands do. I believe it's added to make the consistency a bit thicker.
