Stomach Pain

May 4, 2008
Hello,
I am 59 years old and in general in a very good shape and health. I do exercise 2-3 times a week, lifting, playing basketball and sometime swimming. Everything that I do is in moderation.
Over the years I developed a very mild, lower back ache on the right side and a bit of sensation on my left knee.
However, in the last 6 months I have a strange pain in my stomach that comes and goes every couple of days. It is NOT heartburn. And it does not seem to be an Ulcer. It feels in the mid-abdominal to lower abdominal. It is sometimes a sharp pinching pain making me very uncomfortable but many times it is just a dull pain that transforms itself to a fatigue, strange headache, lost of taste for food and a feeling of nausea.
I realized that if nevertheless I eat, it relaxes the pain but only temporary. If I drink red wine or if eat something with lemon like salad or farmer cheese with bread I feel that it is coming down to the area where it burns and it relaxes the pain somewhat. If I lift or do certain exercises with my legs, the pain seems to contain itself, slowly disappearing for couple of days. If I eat meatballs, serials, nuts, chocolate it seems to initiate the pain but I am not conclusive about it. Because I have tried all different diets, without meat, without milk without nuts without serial and the pain just re-appear one way or another.
I have gone through all the possible tests; endoscopies, colonoscopy, Cad Scan, breath test for H-Pylori, ultra sound, blood test, Urine test. All turn negative.
I have taken, Prevacid, Flagyl, various anti-acid, anti-histamine, No-Shpa, natural stuff. All seem to help temporary and the pain is still coming back.
The various doctors that I went to are telling me it is a muscle spasm. I don’t agree with this finding because a muscle spasm has to do with more of a dull pain generating a knot. The pain that I have is burning pain that stays for a while and then turns itself to a dull pain but not like when one has a muscle knot.
I want to mention one more detail. The first time I felt the pain was on December 11th 2007 around 8pm having a dinner in a restaurant, eating a whole Tilapia fish broiled. In the middle of the dinner all of a sudden I felt a sharp pain followed by a feeling that my stomach turns to a cement block and I could not eat anymore. I remember that the day before I ate a rotten cheese cake whom I through after eating part of it.
Since then, this pain is persistent. And one more thing; I don’t have any constipation.

I would welcome any suggestion.

Aaron

Can you locate that sharp pain as exactly as possible? The pain occurs in minutes to two hours after the meal? After fatty meal maybe?
