IBS? Or what do you think?

So i was diagnosed with Anxiety 4 years ago. I'm a 23 yer old Female. I have been taking Lexapro for it ever since and i guess it works (i say i guess because sometimes i wonder if my body became used to it and no longer works or just in my head). I still sometimes have panic attacks but i would say like once or twice a month. Anyway in November of last year (2011) i started taking a new birth control bill that is part of a research study, (hey, its free!) and i don't know if it's coincidence or what, apparently it is according to my OBGYN doctor since i discussed this issue with her, but ever since around that time i have been having Gastro problems. Here are my symptoms: wake up in the morning feeling like my stomach is sore, like i worked out before i went to sleep (this is something i have had for years), nausea, diarrhea (mucusy) , bloated everyday, i burp A LOT, and have gas at times but not too often, get hiccups at least once a day, and have pain/uncomfortable feeling on my upper left side under my ribs. All these symptoms (besides the wake up feeling and hiccups) come and go. It does not matter what i eat. I have also lost about 5-7 lbs since the start of new birth control. My regular doctor thought i had Giardia because of the diarrhea and if not then said it was IBS. My obgyn said that diarrhea is not a side effect of birth control, do any of you know if that's really true? I had a bacterial infection in December and took an antibiotic which was also the same antibiotic used to treat giardia (which i never knew for sure if i had because i did not do the stool sample), and felt better. But as of late, my symptoms have kind of returned but not as bad. I am trying to take a new probiotic but this ***** i don't want to have to take medicine everyday for my stomach when a year ago i was fine. ughhh. I guess its all my anxietys fault? i don't know! :'( is anyone else on this same page? or know anything about my recurring symptoms?

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  I would recommend that you get stool testing done to figure out what is going on.
