In pain since 8/27, crohns???

I need 1st hand info from someone with my symptoms. Pain started in my left flank 8/27. Thought it was kidney related so I went to a urologist. I tested neg for UTI so he told me to come back in 30 days for an ultrasound. I didn't care for his lack of concern. Then I started staying sick to my stomach & I had a sharp pain under the middle of my left rib so I went to the GI dr. He found a mass in my colon & a not so great stool sample by the look on his face. He sent me for a CT, endoscopy, & colonoscopy asap. After the E & C he told me that my CT looked ok & that he thought I might have crohns or spastic colon. He took some biopsises & I do not have the results yet. I don't realy have the symptoms of either disease. Mostly I feel like I have kidney pain. It's not crampy or colicky. It's a constant ache. Caffine makes it worse. The Urologist has my CT since it's better than the ultrasound that he was gonna give me. He hasn't called to say anything about my kidneys. I have been in almost constant pain or discomfort for nearly 2 months. When am I gonna get some answers? Wouldn't the GI dr. know from the CT if my pancreas & liver were in trouble? He's an MD. Wouldn't he also be able to spot a kidney problem although not in his field? Help please! I need to get back to living a pain free life. My life. I am depressed & in pain 24/7! Thank you! JenBeth

If you had the colonscopy, they should be able to see if you have IBD or IBS. Hang in there.

Sounds like IBS or chrohn's to me. I was just diagnosed with IBS. IBS is a disorder in the large and small intestines and tests do come back clear when you have it. I have been suffering for 2 months now also. Hang in there and research IBS. Pain can be anywhere in the abdomen and back with IBS because your intestines wraps around. I have been trying different remedies along with the medicine I was given two weeks ago when they finally diagnosed me. Keep your head up. IBS does cause depression...I know that first hand. I am currently taking Prozac for the depression and it also is supposed to help some with other symptoms. Don't let the doctors tell you it is all in your head!!

Thank you! I'll look into that. I was in the ER with my husband yesterday :o( He passed a kidney stone to his bladder but he has another in his kidney just waiting to attack him. So my issues are on the back burner. Thanks again for the reply! JenBeth

i have pretty limited knowledge, let me start with that.  but i do know the ct would show lesions/masses.  it won't show some functional problems, tho.  there is another kidney test called an IVP that you can google.  it sounds like you might need further testing, but you need to be in contact with your doctor(s) for answers.  bug them until you get what you need!
