Intermittent stabbing pain in middle/upper abdomen

I am a 36 y/o female. I have had issues with my stomach off and on for years. I was given an IBS diagnosis even though I have never been scoped. I do get heart burn, nausea, and bloating frequently I am H-Pylori negative and Celiac negative (I eat gluten-free anyway). I also go back and forth on BM's between diarrhea and constipation. I started taking probiotics around 2 months ago. About 1 month ago, I started get this constant ball feeling in the upper middle abdomen just directly under my breast bone. I also began getting bloated every time I ate anything. 2 weeks later I started getting intermittent stabbing pains in the same spot on top of the ball feeling. They only last for a few seconds at a time but they happen all day. It felt like it got better for a week, but now it is back and perhaps a little worse. I have a consult with the gastro doc 8/18/16 which is the soonest they could get me in. Does anyone else have similar feelings? What were you diagnosed with?

You may be gluten intolerant-yes I read that you eat gluten-free- however
you may want to also eliminate dairy, since half of gluten-sensitive people are also sensitive to dairy (look into Cyrex Labs for their details on cross reactive foods
I would also rule out low gastric acid levels-you may want to do a Betaine HCL challenge for that. Just follow the label instructions. If you consistently feel better, it almost confirms the low acid.

A negative result does not rule out the possibility of Helicobacter pylori infection, so pls consider doing another alternative test.

Finally, if the above suggestions do not point to anything specific, you may want to do a complete elimination diet.

Please keep us posted. Keep in mind that my comments are not intended to replace medical advice.

Best wishes,
Niko
