Is white foamy saliva an indication of reflux/GERD?

I have been having white foamy saliva for over a month now and my throat has a slight burning sensation in it sometimes. The white saliva seems to be giving my tongue a white coating also. The doctor first thought it was a fungal infection and gave me diflucan (2 150mg pills) and nystatin oral fluid, neither of them did anything at all so i stated to doubt is was a fungal infection since everyone says diflucan is very effective against fungus. My saliva is still white and I am trying to figure out if my saliva and tongue can be related to acid reflux. Can anybody shed some light on this for me?

Did you ever find out what the issue was?  I'm experiencing the same problem for months now and the doctors can't figure it out.

I would be nice if you could share your experience if this got resolved.

check your thyroid. Some of the symptoms of hypothyroidism is indigestion, swollen tongue which usually shows with teeth indention of the sides of the tongue. Sometimes the labs will test normal, but the symptoms are there. Some literature points to a sluggish liver. Mainstream/conventional medicine is does not address care for these issues. You are better off with a naturopath.

I have excessive saliva for about six months now. I am convinced this excessive saliva is the reason of my white tongue.

I tested positive for yeast (candida albicans) some months ago, but tested negative for yeast 2 times in the last 2 months. The test was a classic oral swab.

I also have raised taste buds and teeth impressions in the border of my tongue, since about six months ago as well. You can check my journal for the tests I have done.

Did you find the reason of your problems?
