LUQ Pain and burning sensation

what causes LUQ pain/ burning sensation that radiates to the side and back  and a buldging feeling just below ribcage?

also i think alcohol might of triggered it , because ive been getting this feeling for the last 3 yrs it comes and goes . and i have tried so hard to see what causes it and so far nothing that i know of  except i did have a few drinks 2wks ago and thats when it started ,also when it did i  got real bad gas, heartburn , belching ,bloated feeling . im not a heavy drinker .i dont drink beer just mixed drinks that have rum, teq. vodka  ect .. ( like wine coolers ) . also noticed that when im in a sitting potion, and have my left leg propped up that i can feel the buldging in my left side and it starts to have a burning feeling ! i just want to know what this might be if its gastro related or something else !

I was thinking gastritis and hernia.

well went to the E.R. today ... found out that i have GERD and poss. a hiatal hernia which maybe causing the gerd .
