Lingering Stomach Virus or Something Else?

Hi all! This is my first post on medhelp and I could really use some advice. A week ago I came down with a pretty bad stomach bug. Fever, nausea/vomiting, chills, terrible diarrhea. I gave my body the weekend to feel better but each day I woke up feeling slightly worse than the day before. The nausea and diarrhea were unbearable. When Monday morning rolled aeound I figured I'd better see a doctor. I went to Urgent Care and got a bag of I.V. fluids and 8mg of Zofran intravenously. I was extremely dehydrated and it definitely helped! I wish I could get a bag of fluids every day.

What scared me was the fact that I have Crohn's Disease (it's currently in remission), and I was afraid this bug would send me into a flare. The doctor gave me a 2 day prescription for Lomotil and some Zofran that dissolves under my tongue. The Lomotil couldn't even touch my diarrhea, but the Zofran has worked magixally. I don't know how to explain it but even those these are technically the same symptoms as Crohn's, they're entirely different. I have never felt this awful even when my disease was at its worst before surgery. This bug just can't seem to leave! It's been seven days and I still fell exactly the same - minus  the vomiting - as I did last Thursday. The Urgent Care doc took bloodwork and said everything but my electrolytes were normal - hence the fluids. I feel so week and haven't been able to do anything but move from the couch to my bed. I'm missing school and midterms all because of this horrible thing.

I haven't been able to eat anything except a slice of toast on Sunday and a few animal crackers yesterday. Whenever I do eat I get terrible cramps and have to high tail it to the bathroom. My stomach is extremely noisey, almost as if it's growling or rumbling but it's so audible my mom can hear it if we're in the same room. This might be TMI but my diarrhea is extremely watery, smells awful, and is bright yellow. I don't have my gallbladder, I got it taken out in 2011 along with several inches of scarred large intestine.

I honestly wouldn't wish whatever this is on my worst enemy. Should I call and make an appointment with my doctor, or continue waiting it out? I just don't know what there is that my doctor can do - especially since the Lomotil didn't work. I can't believe I haven't been able to eat in a week, and I can't believe I'm still having diarrhea when it feels like there's nothing left in me. Has anyone else experience this? In the meantime I'm going to keep hydrated.

Did they check your gall bladder?  My sister had the same symptoms they had to remove her gall bladder a week later in an emergency gall bladder surgery. God bless and good luck.

As you well know, trying to figure out stuff like this is so hard cuz symptoms are the same for so many things. It could all be a stomach bug, there are some that can last many days. Could be a crohns flare up too.
I don't know if urgent care is the best place to go though. Wouldnt it be better to see a specialist? That would be my suggestion. And try pure, organic coconut water to help hydrate, best thing for it.
