Lower Left Abdominal Pain/Cramping and red stool

I was diagnosed with Celiac's Disease in July 2008 and have since been gluten free.  I am also soy and now dairy free.  Recently I have had issues with having a complete bm.  As one can imagine, eating a limited diet that isnt high in fiber - this is an issue for me.  I also have a Hiatal Hernia.  My father had Diverticulitis (having 6" of his colon removed) when he was just 40 (my age).

I have had severe cramping in my lower left abdominal.  Almost feels like my actual intestines are cramping; they last about 5 minutes then subside.  This morning when I finally had a BM, ( 3 days since the last one) I had a red bloody BM.  My stools over the last month have been small ( about the size of my finger in diameter).  I am not sure if I should get this checked or if it is a result of low fiber and the constipation I deal with.  I have started taking Psyllium powder in the morning to help.

I did get an endoscope; and about 5 years prior had a colonoscopy.  I see my GI doctor in January; and just recently saw my GP - she ran blood work; which I just did last week.  I havent heard anything back.

Although I have been complaining about the pain for a while; recently only getting worse.  I am supposed to get an xray and see what they find.  I think sometimes they (the medical doctors) think I am making this stuff up.  I have a rather high pain tolerance; so no joking here.

it is frustrating, as I am still going in circles it seems.

thanks for the suggestion.

When you were diagnosed with Celiacs, did they ever do a endoscopy or colonoscopy? You very well could have diverticulitis like your father, or ulcerative colitis, etc. I would get an appointment with your GP to discuss your current issues. Blood in stool should be checked out so you do not become anemic.
