My doctor thinks its my gallbladder and wants me to get a second opinion from a surgeon I don't think it's my gallbladder I don't have any pain
I'll try to have allergy tests done soon but I had cookies later that day and nothing happened. Early satiety is my main symptom right now with bloating and if I try to eat more I get so full it leads to nausea. All foods cause this, really don't know whats wrong. Blood work was good, ultra sound only showed small polyps on gallbladder that my doctor said I can have a second opinion on from a surgeon although it's most likely not causing my symptoms. Also tested negative for H Pylori.
u really should get a food allergy test done. It sounds like those cookies got you sick and you need to figure out what in the cookie caused the reaction. Could be the gluten, dairy, nuts, even eggs.
Started college and my experience is really not great I'm still pretty sick and its one of the biggest party schools in the country too, and yup can't drink. Today I had two cookies and already im lying here bloated and nauseous. I'm taking omeprazole 20mg daily whether it's helping or not I'm not sure. Ultrasound came back fine with some small polyps on gallbladder. Blood work is fine. My stool test results should be in soon. I wouldn't wish this upon anyone especially in college where it is near impossible to follow a diet for gastritis especially since I have 2 meals a day. I have no energy to work out, I go out but can't drink like everyone else, and the food in the cafeteria looks delicious but I can't have any.
Mastic gum seems to be taking care of the heartburn. My only symptoms now is early satiety which is decreasing and nausea sneaking up on me every once in a while. Overall I think Im on the road to recovery I can squeeze in about 1800 calories a day so hopefully no more weight loss.
gastritis is just an irritation of the lining of the stomach. its not really a diagnosis. You still have to find out what is causing the inflamation. h pylori wasn't tested for? Thats a simple test, and then you take meds to get rid of it. But I doubt its h pylori, thats not very common. could be celiac though.
All things are pointing to gastritis. I understand most cases of this are caused by h pylori? Hopefully a good diet, probiotics, and mastic gum will help me feel normal within 2 weeks because I am about to start college! I just want to be able to get in normal amounts of food and be able to eat things like avocados and eggs again!
gluten and dairy are usually the cause, whether its one or both.
on my way to 1800 calories today and feeling better. pro biotics came in today gonna take that and mastic gum will come in tomorrow. Cut out all gluten and I may start trying light dairy again since that does not seem to be a cause. So far Im not gonna take the doctor prescribed antacid
Went to the doc today and he gave me a prescription for an acid reducer. The possible side effects of this drug seem counterintuitive so if I feel better tomorrow I will not take it. Meanwhile I should have a top probiotic and mastic gum coming in tomorrow so I will try that. As soon as my insurance gets figured out I'll also run some blood and stool tests, maybe an ultrasound.
I only put it in stuff, like for making pancakes or in cereal. So i just taste vanilla along with whatever the cereal tastes like. And pancakes and other baked goods, taste like they should. I don't drink glasses of it though.
They do taste kind of weird tho I tried all three and it wasn't really doing it for me, but obviously health is more important.
the milk alternatives (coconut, almond, and cashew) all have more vitamins, protein, and calcium than regular milk.
It's funny I always told people how bad milk is and that it is just advertised as healthy due to outdated research and the dairy industry trying to make a profit, but I still drank it lol. I'm really into weight training and it was always a source of easy quick dense calories. Gonna go get tested for food allergies as soon as I clear something up with insurance. Thanks for the help I'll get back to you soon.
but absolutely NO DAIRY. And make sure you are checking labels for hidden diary ingredients like casein, lactose, whey protein. Nowadays a lot of things give you an allergy warning if milk is an ingredient, but not all.
Switch to Coconut Milk. I use So Delicious Vanilla Coconut Milk. I put it in cereal, smoothies, etc. You can even get it in ice cream.
I was like you. I drank a ton of milk, had cheese on everything, etc. Then, I was told that I had celiac and lactose allergy. On the drop of a dime I cut all that **** out of my diet.
To be honest, everyone thinks milk is good for you. ITS NOT. Cow's milk is meant for baby cows. Not humans. NO ONE digests milk properly. Obviously some digest it better than others, but its not meant for us. Using a milk alternative (almond, cashew, coconut) would be better. Though use the one I suggested above as it doesn contain carragnean (a known toxin).
always a good idea. Just remember that it can take weeks to get your gut flora back in line. Probiotics arent a miracle cure. And you may find that it isn't strong enough. Its a hit or miss game. I was on 50 billion, but that was too strong and gave me diarrhea. Went down to 30, and even that was too strong. Then went to 15 and thats what i take currently.
I suggest taking them before bed (thats when i take it). Or 30-60 minutes before breakfast. You want to take it on an empty stomach.
Going to go ahead and start to try PRO - 15 Probiotic today as well
like a stomach bug? no? But if you have bacterial overgrowth in your intestines, that just gets worse until its treated.
Just go a couple weeks without dairy. I'm sure it will make a huge difference.
Ill cut out dairy it wont hurt but I have been drinking a gallon of milk/3 days since I could remember and my whole diet had always had a lot of dairy in it. Today I ate boiled chicken, potatoes, and carrots (no spices other than salt) and felt pretty decent I will see how tomorrow goes, if I don't feel better tomorrow I'll go get some tests done. Can a bacterial infection last this long? around 4 weeks-ish now?
Thats dairy. you need to cut out dairy completely. Thats a definite. Your bloating and nausea could be completely lactose intolerance or milk allergy.
Thought I was on my way to recovery and I ate a very small serving of low fat cottage cheese today and now I'm bloated and a little nauseous.
You can request any test you want. They may say its not necessary or something like that, but you can say you still want it done and they should do it.
I honestly think you need to find a new doctor. H. Pylori is something my doctors tested for in first blood test when I started having stomach problems. I've also been tested for it numerous times since.
Main things you want ruled out are food allergies, h pylori, celiac, crohns, gallstones, pancreas and liver issues, SIBO, yeast overgrowth.
DO NOT take antibiotics unless you have a bacterial infection. Doctors tend to prescribe them for friggin everything these days. If you dont have a bacterial infection, all you're doing by taking antibiotics is making your stomach and intestines worse by killing off all your good bacteria (flora).
Persistent stomach/digestion issues should have tests done as followed: blood work, allergy test, ultrasound, possibly ct scan or mri of abdomen, endoscopy, colonscopy, breath test to check for SIBO, and stool test
Can i request that they test for H Pylori? It says that doctors generally do not test for it until the development of stomach ulcers but why wait
