Need Help

Hello,

My question is too see if there is a possibility that I have colon cancer. I am currently 26 going on 27 in July and have had a colonoscopy done in 2005. The results were hemrroids, however, the RN that was assisting the Dr. said I had polyps, and asked the Dr. if she wanted the biopsy tools. However, the Dr. replied saying they aren't polyps but hemmroids. I have had problems since 2004 with rectal bleeding, pain in the lower stomach and pencil like stools, as well as ribbon like stools. My bowel movement's vary from consitipated to diarrhia, and at times I don't have to go for a few days. I have bought multiple FDA approved at home tests that comfirm that I am positive. The problem here is it's getting worse, dark and bright red blood on stools and in toliet,  bright red in the toilet bowl and dark red with mucus on the toilet paper. To give you all a brief history, I am a heavy smoker of 8 years. So, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for your replies and comments. Have a blessed day...

Normally colon cancer occurs at age 40+ but, on Medhelp, I do recall reading that there were very occasional occurrences of this disease at earlier ages (~20-30).

My suggestion would be to ask for another colonoscopy and to agree with your doctor a schedule of intervals between check-up colonoscopies (i.e. maybe more frequent (~2-3 years) compared to the normal interval of 5-10 years) especially as you are/have been a heavy smoker.
