Occasional dark blood / mucus

I have occasional blood mixed with mucus when I wipe, barely noticeable, isn’t in stool, but usually happens several hours after a bowel movement when going to pee, and as I said this only happens roughly every 2 or 3 months. I have no other symptoms, I did develop a gluten intolerance but I’ve been told that can’t be related. I’m 22 and otherwise in very good health besides this. My general doctor says this isn’t concern enough to get a colonoscopy. I also got a digital exam from a doctor who confirmed I had no hemmerhoids or anything wrong that was in range of the digital exam.

I would see a good GI doctor if I were you just to rule stuff out. You may want to see an OB doctor as well if you’re female. I had similar symptoms at age 34 & had a colonoscopy, which found a precancerous polyp in my sigmoid colon. If you aren’t happy with your doctor’s diagnosis then get a second opinion. Best wishes...
