For the past two months, I've had all sorts of ongoing stomach problems. Here's a list of the symptoms I've been having:
-Stomach cramping
-Bloating (all day)
-Constipation
-Bouts of nausea
-Excessive gas/gas pain/burping
-Heartburn
-Random stomach gurgling
Generally, these symptoms have been on and off. The only symptom I've had consistently over these past two months is the excessive burping. Most of the time, I'll feel the burp in my chest for a few minutes before it finally comes out. When I have nausea, I'll have some of these burps after 20 minutes or so and I'll begin to feel better.
Sometimes, my symptoms feel slightly worse if I'm slouching in a chair or if I'm lying down.
Antacids help sometimes. Bentyl usually helps when my stomach feels cramped. I've started taking Metamucil twice a day, and my constipation and bloating have begun to clear up.
I went to my doctor about a week after I started feeling symptoms. He thought it was the result of a stomach virus, and that it would pass in a week or so. He gave me a few sample boxes of Protonix, which kind of helped. I started feeling symptoms again after I stopped taking them. I went to the emergency room one day because I felt pain in my lower right abdomen the entire day. They did a CAT scan and didn't find anything. I plan on going back to my doctor this week.
Some other miscellaneous info: I'm 19 years old, and a few weeks before I started having these problems, I had a bout of pretty severe food poisoning.
Does anyone have any idea of what this could be? Thanks.
