Mucus and variying stool colors :(

For a while now, ive been experiencing mucus in my stool and sometimes when i poop, only mucus is in the bowl. And my poop has been varying as well. Whether it is normal brown, or brown with a yellowish tent, sometines its really dark to. I have random moments of discomrfort in the belly area and down but never for more than a moment and its not something yhat happens every day. Any insight would be extremely helpful.
