Pain linked to Gallbladder?

Please find my history here - http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Undiagnosed-Symptoms/Pin--Chest-Pain/show/1118268

There are two associated links found on that page that drill deeper into my history.

I have been having increasing symptoms over the last 6 months.

Currently, everytime I try to sleep on my left side, it produces rapid pin-***** pain in my chest and back (same location on both sides of my ribcage). The pain feels like it's shooting through me. It occurs in a small area about the size of a finger tip. It occurs approximately 2 finger widths below and 2 finger widths to the right of my left nipple.

When laying on my right side, I feel a small heaviness or discomfort in my upper right abdomen. It feels like it's about the size of a quarter or a silver dollar. The discomfort is NO WHERE near as intense as the pin-pricks that I feel when lying on my left side.

I am desperate for answers at this point.

I am starting to see replies that are encouraging me to have my gall bladder checked.

What sort of tests should be ran?

Does this possible diagnosis seem plausible / accurate?

Is there anything I can do to help isolate the cause on my own? Or dispell the symptoms?

They stated that the gall bladder is not inflamed and that there is no fluid surrounding it.

The rest of my abdomen is normal according to the ultrasound.

What are my options at this point? I don't know what a 16mm gall stone means to me.

Thank you so much for your input. Maybe this is the answer that I've been searching for.

I will go to one of the local doctors for an ultrasound this week.

I was having real severe pain below my ribs (breastbone) It would hit me out of nowhere and it would last for hours or until I threw up. I just had my gallbladder removed Monday and I feel better already. At the doc office they did an ultrasound to see if I had stones, which I did. To diagnose myself, I ate something real spicy and fatty, then I waited 30-45 min after and I always noticed I had the pains after that.
