Partial colon blockage

I've been having stomach pains, with a lot of gas pains, for over a year. They come and go. Lately (last week) I discovered a "lump(?)" that I believe is waste in my ascending colon. It won't pass through. I can move it down and feel, hear, waste getting past. I think it's waste because I can move it. But I can't get it to dissolve or soften up so it will pass through. I've increased my fiber intake and am drinking lots of water. Any ideas on what else to do?

It's best to not "assume" anything at this point, you need to see GI doctor regarding all of this.  He will know what you are feeling, and how best to proceed with a colonoscopy. The prep for a colonoscopy will rid you of any stool that is in there, and prolonging this may be making things worse. Take care.

I plan on it, but I've heard that the "clean out" is quite "explosive" and I wonder, worry, about the partial blockage causing problems with it. That's why I'd like to get rid of it before I have the colonoscopy.
