Pooping issues.

I'm a 19 year old female.
Since I've been born I've always had issues when it came to pooping. Since I normally poop once or twice a week.
For about 2 months maybe a little longer every time (1/2 times a week) I poop I have diahrrea. The most solid it's been was still a whole poop but it was soft. I'm not sure what's going on. I would love some professional opinions and helpful advice.

Thank you both. Yea , it's probably time I go to the doctor. I hate having so many tests run but it's probably for the best. And I've been putting it off for 2 months.

Hello,

You stated you were looking for some professional advice - that's just what I think you need to do my dear.

Any change in your normal bowel habits (meaning what's normal for you) should be evaluated by your medical provider.

Sometimes liquid watery stool can be an indication of some type of blockage (partial) higher up in your colon. It's important that you consult your physician. I don't want to frighten you but a change in normal bowel pattern can have serious connotations. See your Doc dear.

Best Wishes,
~Tuck

Oatmeal porridge as part of your breakfast routine are a good fiber source.

While they can taking getting used to (so start with small portions for the first month or two), beans are an excellent dietary source.  I buy dried beans in bulk (Walmart's 8 lb bags of chick peas and desi- chick peas), sprout and then steam cook them.

Else, replacing processed, convenience and junk foods with homecooking will tend to boost your fiber intake.

I already eat 100% whole wheat products. From bread to pasta. I hate the idea of bleached food. I'll look into adding more fiber into my diet. Thank you

Actually, something like Metamucil can hold it together and make it less loose.  It takes getting used to (so, start with lower amounts/doses and work upwards).

But I urge transitioning to higher fiber choice foods rather than relying on a supplement of that character in the long term.

Also it's just one time that day not multiple. I've never been a 2 poo a day person. I was born prematurely and it's effected my digestive track. I'm afraid if I take fiber it might make the diahrrea worse ?

No, there hasn't been anything new, no change in diet or vitamins, I'm working out a little more to try and lose 10-15lbs. I'm 150, 5'5". I'd like to be 130-135. I'm also not on any medications. I do have acid reflux. Could excess acid be causing this ?

Diarrhea is loose, watery stool you pass 3 or more times a day. Stool should be soft but not mushy. You don't want it to be hard and difficult to pass. How many times does it occur when it's loose, or are there other symptoms associated with this (like pain and nausea).

Nervous tension / anxiety could do that (something new in your life?).  A notable change in diet perhaps?  Non-hard poop is the norm (hard poop tends to lead to constipation, hemorrhoids).  (not a professional)
