Sigmoid colon perforation

Patient aged mid 30 was admitted to hospital for intra cerebral hemorrhage with weakness in the left side .  Drs have declared that he was out of danger and no surgery was required. He was bit drowsy  but was given oral solid food . he later developed abdominal distention .  he was given enema and also flatus tube was inserted . He  had melena whenever enema was given - was this an indicator of something which was badly going wrong in his stomach ?
His distension has not gone down and also had hypokalemia and subsequently developed renal failure.  He was also having temperature of 102 degrees ever since he had distension. Drowsiness has increased in 2 days  and later he was shifted to CCU for having tachycardia ?? He was said to have infection called sepsis. What were all these symptoms indicating??? Drs have said that something is going abnormal in his abdomen but did not identify what?? No Endoscopy or colonoscpy was done , but a chest x-ray was taken. Except when enema was given patient did not complain about any acute pain in the abdomen. Can someone  please advise on what should all these be indicating and how should he would have been treated ?  The patient latedr developed sigmoid colon perforation . An emergency Laparotomy was done but the patient did not survive a day. He passed away and the reason cited was peritonitis and septic shock leading to multiorgan failure.  Is it not possible to save a person who does not have any history of problems earlier and all of a sudden had this perforation ??

Please except my deepest condolences.  When I hear about these thiings I want to scream at the medical profession because The exact same thing happened to me 25 yrs aga and by the Grace of God (somedays) I survived to a life of hell. When the animal(Dr.)who did this to me stood at the end of my bed to give me a sigmoid since I had been hemoraging for 4 days for heaven\s sake so i was in alot of pain but as soon as he put it it he shoved it i felt excruciating pain he told me not to be a big baby and walked out.  Never came back so on the fourth day another doc came and had to cleam up his mess since i was near death. Do not let them get away with this. Please, I live in Canada and to sue here is almost impossible we canadians let our drs and nurses get away with murder literally and they cannot be sued.  |n ur country u can, it won't bring ur loved one back but maybe the medical profession will think twice if they tet hit in their pockets and ur loved ones passing would be a miracle to al kiving one.

Sepsis is an infection of the blood that can damage other organs and is diffiuclt to fight.  A bowel perforation can result from a tumor, cancer, polyp, partial bowel blockage where if not treated immediately that part of the bowel dies, causing gangrene and sepsis.  When the bowel is perforated everything pours into the abdominal cavity which is also very serious.  A colonoscopy was needed, but it sounds like he deteriorated quickly while the doctors addressed his other problems.  You can have a partial bowel blockage and not have serious enough symptoms to send you to the doctor right away. It's a sad case for one so young.

Those symptoms were exactly what my Mother was going through and it was ishemic bowel caught way too late. She was xrayed, scanned etc...they didnt catch it.  Finally, they found it and removed the dead bowel but it was too late. She died.  She suffered horribly for months.  Please check with the doctor and have some cats done as any sigmoid or other types of invasion could be deadly.  go there for bowel obstruction first. Please.
