As long as you are using it for dealing with constipation, I don't think it is a bad practice.

Thank you for quick response.  I sometime use EpsomSalt for cleaning(or removing old feces mixed with miralax). Sometimes Castile Extra Mild Soap followed by a rise of H2O with sea salt to keep lytes in balance. Am Always astonished with what still comes out appearance and foul odor. Next day feel much lighter and more energy. Is this still a bad practice?  Have a colonoscopy in May.

I think enemas are warrented ("good") when someone suffers from constipation that cannot be relieved by better methods.  However, in my opinion, when someone refers to "cleansing" in regard to enemas, I assume they are talking about "ridding the body of toxins" as opposed to "relieving constipation".  There are many laxatives out there and it took me a while before I found a combination that worked for me (and that combination has changed with time; ones that have worked for me at one point or another are miralax, milk of magnesia, magnesium citrate, docusate, and lactulose; I also know many people who have been helped a lot by amitiza, which is a prescription, but it hasn't helped me).  I would recommend trying a warm water enema to see if that will work for you.  If that doesn't work, then you can research some of the other "more natural" enemas (I've heard of milk and molasses, however I haven't really done much research on this), before trying a fleets enema which is more harsh on your body.

What type of enemas do you call good? I had back surgery 3 yrs ago and nerves in lower back were genetically clumped together.  Also a nerve was cut that has since then caused motor sensory problems yielding a lack of perstalsis.  Now must take Miralax daily and does not work 7 days a week. So now do cleansing every Sunay evening befor bed.

I think it depends on the type of enema.  Using enemas frequently for constipation can cause your rectum to "forget" how to have a bowel movement naturally.  Using enemas for "colon cleansing", I believe is not good, because your colon doesn't need any cleansing, it does this itself.
