Hello,
I've been dealing with IBS issues for 6-7 months now and something different has been bothering me.
I am experiencing what I would like to describe as a stitch in my right side, around my floating ribs, all the way up to under my right rib cage.
I do not have intense pain in any of these areas, though from time to time, I feel a stinging/stabbing pain under the right rib (i mean under the ribs, not moving down to the abdomen). Besides that, it's a dull pain that accumulates while sitting, not as much laying down. I barely notice anything when I am standing/moving.
Last Oct/Nov, I had a gallbladder ultrasound, which was fine. Then I had an ab/pelvis CT Scan, which was fine. I went along with IBS treatment for a while after that, which seemed to help.
After a while though, I developed the pain I've been describing and in April, I had a right rib area x-ray & urine test (for kidney trouble) both of which were fine. After these results and no answers, I went back to my GI, who noted my change in bowl habits and decided to give me a colonoscopy, which also came back just fine.
Today, I've experienced some stinging pains in that right rib area again and they went away after a while. I didn't have anything fatty for lunch, nor did I pass any gas after eating. I am not yellow and it doesn't hurt when I take a deep breath or push in on these areas.
At this point, I am not sure what to do, which Dr. I should go to see or if there is any course of action that makes sense.
