Saw Gastroenteroligist and going for endoscopy

Hello,

An update from previous post. My Dr believed I had gastritis related to Naproxen. I was treated for 30 days with losec, no real improvement and then 30 days with Nexium and not much improvement. My symptoms has lessened, but not gone completely away. I have been under a fair amount of stress this year for various reasons and I'm also a big worrier at the best of times, so I believe that is contributing.
I was lucky enough to get into see a gastroenterologist yesterday. The next appointment was in October! He doesn't believe this can still be from the Naproxen, that should have resolved already. Had bloodwork for Celiac and H.pylori, both negative. He does not think it is stomach cancer, or my gall bladder or my pancreas and left it up to me whether I want to wait longer to see if it got better or to be scoped. I chose endoscopy and he had an opening this Monday.
At least, he will look around my stomach and see if anything is there to cause my symptoms. If not, I guess we can start looking elsewhere if I have no improvement. He also took me off the Nexium, at least until he scopes me and it doesn't really seem to be making any big difference in how I am feeling.

What will I feel like after the scope?
Any suggestions on where to go after that if it proves to be negative?
How much does stress and anxiety contribute to these symptoms?

Any thoughts would be appreciated,

Jodi

So I did not take my dose of Nexium today and the heartburn was terrible! I haven't felt such pain for a long time. I finally gave in by 5pm and took my Nexium. I think I will stay on it at least for now.

Has this happened to anyone else?
Should you gradually come off of the drug, not abruptly?
