Senokot long term safety

I have been taking Senokot daily for a little over a year now because of constipation caused by medicine. I take 2-3 8mg pills of sennosides at night. Have I permanently damaged my intestines? Am I at risk for other health problems and what are they? I am going to switch to eating a lot of fiber to treat my constipation from now on.
