Severe, diffuse abd. pain w/severe nausea & vomiting

For past 7 wks, I have had diffuse abd. pain that has increased in severity, along w/nausea and vomiting daily. The pain started in lower abd. in & around belly button. No diarrhea, severe constipation (going maybe 2x's wk even after taking Sorbitol 2 TBSP daily.(I've had some constipation all my life). Saw my Dr. no hernia, watch, increase fiber. Pain travels all over. Now, besides belly button area, severe pain below breastbone, ULO below ribcage, menstrual-like cramping (had hysterectomy 3 yrs ago). Better not eating. Strong hx. bleeding & non-bleeding ulcers, gastritis, erosive gastritis, diverticulitis, erosive esophagitis, so bad that in freshman year of college, GI dr. said my stomach had so many holes it looked like a flute & threatened surgery, spent entire summer in hosp. But, these pain(s) feel diff. than other ulcer pains, vomiting up to 9x's day, vomit appearance changed from watery, undigested food to thick, frothy undigested food (if food eaten). Hurts after eating throughout GI tract, stomach, cramping in intestines. Insulin-dependent Type ll diabetic with complex partial seizure epilepsy. Sugars high with Trace Ketones today. Seizures increas, but Neuro. not wanting to adjust meds with current symptoms. In ER 3/12/12, chest pains, PVC'S, high blood pressure, severe sweating, shaking chills, headache, muscle pain, re-hydrated, pain meds, GI cocktail, bloodwork showed high alkaline phosphatase. U/S done due to this test, gallbladder & liver ok. See my internist again tomorrow, GI specialist 2 wks(his earliest). With ketones showing up, change in appearance of vomit, fevers, shaking chills(despite temp. outside is 76 degrees) now all over diffuse abd pain getting worse, does anyone have any ideas of cause & how to get thru next 2 wks? I am new to site, ANY comments are welcomed. Thanks everyone.

I would say that you need to see a different doctor.  I would say that it is likely that you are dehydrated and have some nutrient deficiencies like low potassium which could be causing the muscle pain and cramping.  But if you are so nauseous that you are not able to keep things down, then this has gone beyond something that you can treat at home.  I understand your struggles though.  I have a condition called gastroparesis and I deal with chronic nausea and I am fed through a GJ tube and I have a central line for medications.  It is hard to deal with lots of symptoms and I don't know that I have anything in particular to tell you to help you cope with it, but just stick with it and things will improve.

Thanks for your comment. Saw internist 3/20/12, lost another 7.5lbs since 3/14/12. ;ymp. same, told him I felt dehydrated & had trace ketones in urine. Looked at my tongue, said I wasn't that dehydrated, drink gatorade, water, juices. This is 7wks now. Ordered bloodwork, and EEG as I have had a total of 3 new seizures since Monday am. return in 1wk. Blood tech sensed frustration as he did not offer to contact GI for earlier appt.(April 4th). Talked with his nurse who said when he reviews lab results will base next decision if I can wait(???) Said to call if worse - what's going to be worse, cannot eat, sleep, drink fluids, little urine output, sweating profusely, and now having SEVERE muscle pain & cramping in legs, feet, hands. I am so nauseated and have bone shaking chills. ANYONE ever have anything like this & how did you cope?  I have now lost 37#in 7wks. ANY info., suggestions, ideas on how to get rid of muscle pain & cramping and diet/food recommendations (on bananas, rice, applesauce, toast - not staying down!! Worst is constant muscle pain, twitching, cramping!!

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Because of your history I think you need to take this seriously.  I think that you might need an endoscopy to check things out.  This might be one of the GI conditions that you had before.
