Severe Abdominal Bloating

Hello everyone!  I'v had bloodwork done and there is nothing indicating a problem. I looklike I am 8 months pregnant. It goes up and down all throughout the day. So it doesn't really have a set time or do it after eating or anything else. I can't pinpoint what could be causing it to do that. It just does it when ever it feels like it although eating doesn't help the situation. I also have had an allergy test done and it didn't indicate that I have any allergies. I'm miserable and embarrassed. I feel like I can barely breathe at times because of the air (or whatever)pushing on my ribcage and lungs, a lot like when your pregnant. I literally feel it expanding alot of the time. It feels like someone hooked up a bicycle pump to me and started airing me up like a tire. My skin stretches and stetches, to the point I think it can't possibly stretch anymore. No, I'm not pregnant either. Havn't done that for a very long time. It doesn't feel like gas either. Nothing rolling around in there and I don't pass gas at all.I have had this problem now for a couple of years off and on and from mild to severe. Right now though, it's the worse I have ever seen it. It is causing me a lot of problems, discomfort and pain. The pain is up against or under my ribs and I often feel like I have a pinched side on both sides. Kind of like when you swim after eating. I can't even walk, really. Not normally, I waddle like a duck. Does anyone here have this same problem?  Thank you for taking the time to read this post and I would so greatly appreciate any ideas, suggestions or advise.

Ellen

Lactose intolerance and milk allergy are different things.  I would still recommend trying to eliminate 100% of all lactose from your diet to see if that helps.

Try a probiotic and or a digestive enzyme, particularly a papaya enzyme.  See if that will help.

Hi, I'm the original poster. I'm still having these same symptoms. I was tested for a milk allergy and it said I had none. Could the test be wrong?

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  Have you tried eliminating all lactose from your diet?  Even if it doesn't appear to be associated with eating or doesn't feel like gas, it could still be from this.  I would recommend trying this and see if it helps.
