Severe Sciataca after colonoscopy

I had my first colonoscopy in November.  The procedure went well but about 2 days later my tail bone started to hurt. This went on for about 4 days then cleared up. Unfortunately I then started having muscle spasms in my back and a severe pain down my left side from my hip to my shin bone.  I finally went into the doctor and they have put me on prednisone and said they have no idea how this could of happened other then I had back surgery over 20 years ago and somehow during the procedure whether they twisted or moved my body in such a way as to irritate a past injured area.  Has anyone else experienced something like this?
