Severe low abdo pain upon wakening - goes as soon as I get out of bed

I have severe low abdo pain upon wakening - goes as soon as my feet hit the ground. I recently had 5 weeks of bloating, pain all over my abdomen but particularly in lower right side - especially before passing stools. Stools varied from constipation to small pieces, to explosion of stool - all in one day - as if a blockage. One day I went to the toilet to pass stools 7 times.  Pain was like inflammation. I was given buscopan, then spasmodal, then mebeverine, then Asacol - I was also told to take Fybogel. Nothing helped or eased the pain. Then after 5 weeks it gradually went, but left me with this morning pain. When I waken there is no point in trying to get back to sleep as the pain just gets worse and worse. It's all across my pelvic area and worse in lower right area. I've had a bladder scan - all normal - only 16mls residue of urine after emptying bladder. Blood results were fine - no inflammation indicators. I have to have a colonoscopy in a few weeks but does anyone know what this could be?

Thank you for your response. I am not looking forward to the preparation (Picolax) for colonoscopy. Been through that before - horrendous!

A colonoscopy is a good idea which would probably show what is wrong.  In the mean time I would try elevating your head when you sleep to see if that relieves the pain a little bit.
