Still part of a virus or something worse? I'M WORRIED!

This may be a little confusing but I'm worried and my doctor is gone for 2 weeks so I thought...what the heck!

I've been getting checked out for what I'm calling "episodes" I've had.  Right now I am waiting on my ultrasound resaults.  I had blood work done for ulcers and gullbladder both came back ok.  These "episodes" consist of abdominal pain/discomfort, back pain, heaviness in my chest and down around my bra line area. I can sometimes get really hot and nausiated to the point of making myself vomit so it will stop.   When I do throw up, I noticed it was really thick and would sometimes even look like the food wasnt even digesting.

Ok, the point of my question...  Earlier this week I thought I was having an "episode" and after I threw up I felt ok until an hour later.  I got flu like symptoms...chills, queasy stomach, fever...a little stomach pain and body aches..  I got really tired and slept most of the day.  Later in the evening I started having diarrhea.  The diarrhea got to be uncontrollable and I would be up that night every 2hrs it seemed and would almost not make it to the bathroom.  By morning it got more controllable and I looked up remadies and started eating bananas and drinking Gator Aid.  It got better.  I only vomited that once but I was still tired and had hot and cold flashes.  Now I am almost 100% better but still have some issues that I'm starting to wonder if are from the virus or could be from whatever causes the "episodes". I still have no appetite, I'm VERY gassy (sometimes it hurts), I have bowel movements frequently but they are very small, my stomach feels weird and queasy a lot.  It's almost a feeling of being too full of liquids and when you're food doesnt want to go down after eating too fast.  And to add on top of everything, I started my period so I REALLY have no idea what to make of all of this.  I', just extremely worried it would be whatever is wrong with me, getting worse. I hope someone on here can make sense of all this and shine some light on to it for me.

Sorry it's been so long.  I forgot about this site.  I know what's wrong.  Gall stones. Now I just have to lose enough weight to have an out patient surgery.  Untill then, follow a diet.

Hi, I'm sorry to hear about your husband.  I'm feeling better today, thank god!  I hope you find out whatever if making him feel like that.  I think my bowel troubles and flu like symtoms were just that, flu or stomach virus.  My "episode" symptoms and things have been going on over a period of a year maybe.  It was thought it was acid reflaux at first then when Prolosec wasn't helping and it kept coming on, I got tested for the ulcer and gallbladder.  I'm hoping to find out what it is soon.

I don't have an answer for you but, WOW,  most all of your symptoms, my husband has also.  He has had the feeling of too much liquid for over a week and off and on diarrhea and small bowel movements (when he has them).  He felt like he could not possibly eat or drink anything because he had no more room left.  He threw up once, and it also seemed like his food wasn't digested (from the day before)

He is 53 and has thought it could be all kinds of things from gallbladder, thyroid, his pancreas to kidney problems or prostate problems.  I told him I thought it was the flu or some kind of bug (but of course it's easy to suggest stuff when you are not the one having the symptoms or the pains). He said if it's the flu, it's not like anything he as ever had before. He has been tired, and felt queasy from his head to his stomach and had pain in his back down by his kidneys.  He hasn't been sleeping well because his mind is racing and has had constant "choppy" thoughts.

He has never had any serious health problems and so the stress of thinking it could be something major has probably added to and compounded the problem.  I hope it is just some bug.  He does feel a little better today, he had some chamomile tea with a little honey and ate a teaspoon of peanut butter (for protein)  (he said that was all that sounded good).  He said thanks for the banana & gator aid tip.  He is feeling better this evening, but that has happened before, and just when he thought he was getting better, he felt worse again. I hope you are feeling better too and I hope this is just some flu bug going around.......and if anyone else out there has this or knows what it is, please let us know.  If my husband doesn't get better in the next day or two, we will be going to see the doctor. (we do not have health insurance and I'm really hoping it's just a passing flu bug.  Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.
