Stomach Distension

I am 19 years old and in pretty good health, but for some reason, for two years now, my stomach has been constantly bloated. It looks as if I am 5 months pregnant, but I am currently on my period, so obviously I am not with child. Nothing makes the bloating worse or better, it is constantly the same size. I am almost overweight because of my stomach. Before this, I was 125lbs, and now I weight about 170. I have been going to a Nutritionist and I am on an excersize program and I cannot lose this stomach, so it is not fat, my stomach has hardly any fat at all, it is harder (like pushing on a balloon) and the skin is pretty tight. I have IBS and acid reflux, but I've had IBS and reflux for years before I got this big stomach. I don't understand what this is and I need to know how to get rid of it. I'm sure I'd drop 20 lbs if it was gone.

Thank you so much!

Kelsie

I have this too and it never goes down. Although it is a pain, if I was going to suffer from it I would rather it go away at some point but it NEVER does unless I stop eating. I am a small person but when my stomach is bad, my weight can increase up to 4 kilos! It is not weight because if I go onto a very low carb diet for 3 or 4 days, it will go down. Once I was on it for 3 days and lost 3.4 kilos in those 3 days. I have no idea what it is and have not got any help from doctors. The best they have done

I'm 19, too...so I guess I'm not going to be much help really...but the only thing I can think of is that maybe you have a lot just in your colon? heh. I'm not sure, and I'm almost positive that I sound dumb...but they say John Wayne's colon weighed nearly 50 lbs at his death due to all the toxins and excess fecal matter trapped in his colon.  Maybe try a colon cleanser?  Idk...definitely don't just take my word for it.  Ask a professional if maybe this could be it, but I mean... I don't think a colon cleanser would hurt anything, so give it a shot if you think it sounds legit...if not, just ignore me(:
