Stomach Flu and the Shortness of Breath

Can someone please answer my stomach flu question below???

I can't speak for California, but in our area  alot of people were coming down with the same thing.  Lasts a day or two.  Luckily I never got it.  This was a couple weeks ago.

I am wondering of a stomach flu epidemic in Los Angeles ,CA. I along with my girlfriend, brother, sister in law and 2 infants of theirs have symptoms of stomach flu  ( nausea/, vomiting, stomch ache...etc..). Mine started yesterday, theirs started today...
We were not together this past week at all....I was with my girlfriend and my brother was with his family.....no contace between the two families./??
