Stomach pain after eating

My son has been having stomach pains on the left side by his belly button after eating for the past 2 weeks.  He says it is not extremely painful, just very uncomfortable.  Does anyone know what could be wrong?

Is pain in the hight of the navel or below the ribs or more toward the hip? Or all over the left side? Any change in stool color or consistency (constipation/diarrhea/mucus/blood).

When did pain start? How old is he?

He said that it is on the direct left and bottom left of his belly button.  There has been no change is his stool's color or consistency.  He is 11 and the pain started two weeks ago.

If pain is on the side in the left lower quadrant, it is possibly from the colon. Some rare condditions like volvulus (a part of the colon twists around its axis) could be possible.

Small intestinal hernia would be also posible - this could be probably possible to detect with the hands as a soft lump in the affected area.

I guess, ultrasound could be the first investigation and X-ray with barium swallow or enema after that.
