Stomach problem, especially while sleeping...

Hi,
I am a 33-year male with a normal weight and with a healthy diet (low fat, no soda, no can food and no fast food). From about 3 years ago I am having a dull stomach pain while sleeping, which causes sore throat and much discomfort and restlessness. When the pain is not so much, I feel better throughout the day until falling asleep again. If the pain is more intense this remains during the day. But, the problem is fundamentally at night when sleeping, so I cannot rest enough which is affecting my performance at work and studies.
This happens almost everyday and this worsens when I eat more fat or can food. This somewhat lessens when eating fruits and having a light meal during night. However, even in this case the pain persists. Even sometimes when eating too little food at night would be worse. I have not much stress and any variaition of stress level seems not to affect significantly to this problem.
Also, I experiment a minor pain in the right upper part of my stomach, under the ribs, that increases when the problem at night is intense. I took 1 ultrasound (for the upper part of the stomach) 2 years ago, 2 endoscopies and a GERD exam and they didn't find anything wrong.

What can it be? What other exams do you recommend to take? What nutrition would be most recommendable to try to overcome this problem?. I would appreciate any comment or suggestion on this.

Thanks,

Sorry, that tells me nothing.  Remember, I'm just a nutritionist.  I'm gald your going to get that test done.  Since only holistic doctors do this test, this will give you chance to have your problem looked at from a different point of view.  Holistic dr's do tests and treatments that traditional ones don't do, and vice versa.  So I always tell people who have chronic health problems to see both kinds of doctors.  I wish you the best.  Gina

Thanks mifegr, I will take this test.
By the way. I also find out today that when sleeping on the left side I have less stomach pain than on the right or back side. If this tell you something?
What do you think?

Thanks,

I'm a nutritionist.  Not a nurse.  However, there is a test called the Heidelberg Gastrogram (google this).  It is completely accurate and it is a very easy test to take.    It will tell what EXACTLY is going on with the pH of both your stomach and your intestines, both when your eating and when your stomach and intestines are empty.  And once they know, they can treat it.  Maybe you never realized this but too little stomach acid is more common than too much.  And the symptoms for both are the same.  So find a holistic doctor who does this test and have it done.  Even if you have to fly out of state to have it done.  I only say that because I live in MI and there is no one here that does this test as far as I know. By the way, people with acid problems often feel worse when they are lying down.  That's why I think it's an acid problem.  Good Luck!
