I am worried, big time! My GI specialist knows nothing about thne desease, so he hasn't offered any advice except a low fat-high protein diet! Cant all the inflamation cause my body to age rapidly? And what all can I do to relieve my symptoms?!
I have had chronic water retension & weight gain (probably due to the water). I dont know how to make my self feal better, and right now I feal miserable. I dont know what supplements or vitamins I should be taking (I'm not absorbing well). I am extremely constipated all of the time! It's like everything just stopped! How do I get things moving again? Will I loose the weight!? I'm not used to being big! Will I ever feal like myself again!?
Welcome to the gastroenterology community! What magusfey said is correct. Pepto Bismol can cause black stools. If the fatty substance continues, you should see your doctor. You don't need to worry about having a rare disease like lymphangiectasia.
I was just diagnosed with Lymphangiectasia. One of the symtoms is what you are explaining. Definently see a GI specialist...Good Luck
Pepto Bismol has been known to turn stool black. The fatty substance on the other hand, seems abnormal. I would keep an eye on it, and if you have it happen again, I would see a doctor. Good luck!
