Sweating areas

Ok I am 18 years old and I have been having uncontrollable sweat from my palms, fingers, anus, genitals and soles of my feet for more than 6 years and Its not lieke i am hot nor nervous. I can be walking slowly and I could just be sweating. I would like to know is this a disease of some sort? If so what is the treatment?

Try posting your question under Neurology (there are 2 neurology forums) and see if the doctor there has anything to say about it.  Good luck!

Hi, You know, my sister had this exact same problem.  And it started when she was in her teens.  She ended up going to see a psychiatrist who is also has a degree in pharmacology.  They are called Psychopharmacologist's (sp?).  He put her on Depakote.  It's an anti seizure med.  It calmed down her nervous system.  At first, it made her tired.  But the dr said that would pass after a couple of months and it did.  Anyway, it helped her.  Also, did you know that people get botox in their hands to stop the sweating?  It paralyzies the nerves.  It proabably lasts around 2 to 3 months just like it does when someone gets it in their forehead for wrinkles.  I'm so sorry you have this problem.  Have you seen a dr and asked him if what might be causing this?  I wish you all the best.
