I am having my gallbladder out on Weds the 27th so the day before I have to prep for this - What is the best way to take this Phospho-Soda that I hear is sooooooooo nasty??????   I don't know what the best drink is to mix it so I don't taste it at all.  Thanks.

Only way I can get it down is to get it VERY cold, and hold my nose and chug away.  The ginger ale is probably about the best thing to mix it with unless you can't tolerate all the carbonation.  All the preps have an almost "oily" residue to them.  That's what just gags me.  Helps to keep gum or mints handy as well.  I feel your pain!  Good luck!

I will be having my conoloscopy exam tomorrow, too, about 1 p.m., and I am to drink the phoso soda at 5:00 today.  My group of docs told me to put it in 24 oz of ginger ale and drink it over 30 minutes.  I have a liter of Canada Dry in my refrigerator and will use about a third of it in a glass and will add the phoso.  I plan to drink it pretty quickly, which is what I did when I had to drink a white concoction for a CAT scan about a month ago.  Drank it right up.  It didn't taste that bad.  But I have no idea how the phoso will taste.  But I can stand almost anything.  But my thinking is that is the least of your problems.  Instead, see this as a full process, completed after your procedure, and think how wonderful you will feel when it's over with tomorrow!!!!  That's what I'm a gonna do.  I'm thinking about how great it will be to get home and lay on the couch and drink a big glass of chocolate milk.

I had mine out 2 years ago and I did not have to drink that either. I know you do for a colonoscopy...
I did have to fast from midnight the day before.

I had my GB removed, and did not have to drink any phoso-soda, or anything special.  What does the phoso-soda do?
