URQ Pressure and bloating

Hello. I am a 25 yr old male, 5'11", fairly active. I have been having sort of a pressure in the URQ of my abdomen right under my right ribs for about a month now. Its kinda hard to describe, but it sometimes feels like I have a sock balled up below my ribs. When I push on it, it sort of gurgles and feels better for a while, but it always comes back. It doesn't really hurt, at most I would call it a gentle pain, more of a discomfort really. I have the world worst fear of Dr's only because I am always afraid that they will tell me something I don't want to hear. I know thats horrible. No other symptoms of like liver disease(jaundice, nausea, etc.) or severe pains like from a gallbladder attack. Normal stools and urine color...doesn't feel like anything is enlarged in there to the touch...but the pressure is getting OLD!!! Has anyone else ever experienced this or possibly know what it could be? Thanks!
Nick

That makes alot of sense! And you're right, I need to just suck it up and go to the doctor and get it checked. Thank you so much!

Personal experience: Yes, I've had the same feeling, and I described it being about the same. In my case the final diagnosis for that was gallbladder dyskinesia. (Nothing too serious, just that the gallbladder stops pumping right for some reason. It may, however, be tied to something more, as was my case. From what you describe that's not likely, however.)

You really do want to talk to your doctor about it to make sure it's not something more serious in its beginning stages, because it could be a number of things. Ask for a HIDA/CCK to be done (they'll probably ask you to do an ultrasound of the region as well), which will reveal whether the organ is functioning correctly. If it's not, and there are no stones (detected though the ultrasound), then you're pretty safe keeping it there, you just have to watch your diet more closely, avoiding certain foods. Still, eventually it may have to come out.

I would also highly recommend a good holistic physician, perhaps an acupuncturist, since they may be able to help with the bloaty, gentle pain feeling.
