Ulcer causing Malabsorption ?

Hi Everyone,

In November I started an extremely anxious phase where I thought I had HIV, got tested with a PCR and Elissa test at 7 1/2 weeks post exposure and was negative, got tested again at 4 1/2 months and was negative. I have put my anxiety aside now but I do have major digestive issues as my body is not absorbing nutrients. Following are my symptoms:

1) Undigested food in stool

2) Soft Stool

3) White nut like stuff in my stool with a yoke like texture.

4) Bloating, passing wind soon after eating, burping more often

5) Appetite loss.

6) Malaise 2 days after a work out

7)Dry Patchy Skin, Dry Mouth, Dry Eyes (possible eczema)

8)Hair Falling

9) Crack in the middle of the tongue

10) Left toe is numb.

11) Extreme tiredness getting worse.

12) Itching Anus

2 stool tests done and different times show no Bacteria, Candida or Parasites (h pylori, not sure what other parasites they checked).

Blood tests are showing low Iron (no anemia). Vitamin D deficiency, rest all is normal. PH is 8.

I am absolutely miserable as this is no way to live, I am going from Dr to Dr with no avail, no one is able to figure out what is wrong and this makes me go back to my anxiety and questioning if my HIV results are right ?

Latest reports are indicating a small ulcer, I dont know where since my appointment is on Monday.

Please can anyone let me know what has happened and if this could the ulcer have been triggered by the 2 months of intense anxiety I was under.

Best Regards and Thank you so much in Anticipation

Hi Remar,

PH levels are 7 and no bacteria or parasite were detected in 3 stools tests.
Issue is no one knows what is wrong, no ulcers either (there was miscommunication).

I mean even on the forums no one is able to say what the issue is though it I clear that anxiety can cause digestive issues.

My only guess is that the extreme anxiety I faced has caused low pancreatic enzyme output in the long run. All of which I need to get checked.

Hi Remar,

Thanks for your reassurance my friend.
My anxiety is back due to my recent blood tests which show a slightly elevated level of WBC higher than the ref range.

This is in stark contract to my WBC levels a few months ago which where in range.
The high WBC got me thinking that I have some kind of an infection, the doctor checked my Lymph nodes and asked me to get over my trauma.

Best Regards

Stress can cause alot of stomach acid and that can cause an ulcer. Did your Dr prescribe a poton pump inhibitor? A medication like Prilosec, Zantac or anything like that? These will help your stomach make less acid so the ulcer can heal.
In the mean time you need to get your B and D levels up. This can be done with diet and vitamins.
You've had the tests for HIV and you are clear, nothing to worry about.
