Uncontrollable gas, smelly.

Few months ago, I had uncontrollable flatulence problem. I had gas no matter what I eat. I started taking B-12 supplements which helped, and I have no gas problem now.

The problem is, I leak gas from my anus, very small quantity. I don't know its happening and I don't feel it coming out. Just by reaction of other people, I realize that I am smelling. I bath twice a day and keep the area clean. I don't have any other digestive problem. My BM's are regular, no mucus, blood or pain etc. I feel burning sensation around my anus sometimes.

It happens more when I think about it, eg., stress, anxiety about social gatherings etc. This is affecting my lifestyle and work badly. I avoid people. I don't have a medical insurance.

Please help me.

Thankyou in Advance

Okay I explain in detail.

During mid-2010 I went through a stressful time (giving up job, graduate studies). I started to develop gas in my stomach all the time, especially when I was nervous. It caused embarrassing sounds at times. I went to doctor, and was diagnosed with Vitamin B-12 deficiency. I started taking supplements which solved the problem.

By the end of 2010, very thing was fine, so I stopped taking supplements for couple of months. This time the gas problem became more severe. It happened all the time and was smelly. At the same time I stated to leak the gas from anus in very small amounts but smelly(it did not happen to me before). So I restarted taking my B-12 supplements. The gas problem disappeared. I am perfectly okay now, except I am leaking the gas. It happens when I am anxious, and in social gatherings. I am looking for a solution to this problem.

Hi.. Did you try doing an anal manometry to see your sphincter pressure? If the internal anal sphincter pressure is low (detectable only by manometry), then maybe that could be a cause for the involuntary leak..

I'm not sure what you mean about a gas leak.  I thought  the B12 solved the problem.  Is the leak different from the original problem?

Yes, it did except the gas leak. Lowest level for B12 here in Canada is 150. Mine was 160. Doctor said even though it is above lower level, it should be much higher than 150. That solved my digestion problem completely.
