Under left rib pain

I am experiencing a sharp, sudden, quick pain under my left ribcage and more toward my side as opposed to the midpoint of my body.  What might this be?  I am on no medications (except Premarin).  I do not have high blood pressure nor cholesterol issues.

does the pain happen when you take a breath ?? if so it might be pluracy of the lung which is just a little inflammation . if it persists check with your doctor .
