Vomiting Episodes

I have episodes of vomiting that has lasted about a year and a half now.  I am 24 years old and I have been treated in the ER several times for dehydration because of vomiting. There is no specific pattern or trigger that I or my Doctors can pinpoint. I will wake up one morning and start throwing up stomach acid for 14 hours, not be able to keep water down and will be fine the next day. Sometimes I throw up after meals for no reason, all with different foods that have no common ingredient (fruit, pizza, salad, toast, yogurt) I also cannot drink alcohol at all anymore. I was never a heavy drinker but very fond of wine; I can't even drink a half glass without throwing up for hours or days, I opt not to drink anymore. When these episodes occur I get excruciating pain in the center of my upper abdomen; it feels like a tight squeezing feeling, I also get pain in my lower left and right abdomen that feels like cramping and sharp shooting pains. I will also get pain in my right should blade. During an episode I am so focused on the pain I can't process what people are telling me, I also have problems forming sentences and feel like I am completely out of it. Chills, profuse sweating, and a feeling of diarrhea with no bowel movement also accompany my episodes. Since December 2009 I have lost 20lbs because I am scared to eat in case it is food triggering it. All I eat is ensure, soup, crackers, applesauce, and yogurt. I have had ultrasounds done on my gallbladder and my ovaries both were normal. I tested negative for diabetes, all STDs, and H Pylori. I have been referred to have an endoscopy but with all of my visits to the ER for IV fluids and medicine the past year and all of the tests done thus far, I cannot afford to do this procedure right now. Is there any help you could provide in finding a diagnosis? I would really appreciate your time.

I agree with baybeethick1980 this does sound a lot like gastritis. I got dignosed with it in September 2009. I just kept throwing up on day so I went to Urgent Care and after a few tests that came out ok thats when I got dignosed. I have also tested negative for H Pylori and my gallbladder was also fine. I have been to 3 different doctors with different acid reducers but nothing seems to help. My current doctor told me that if my medicen that Im on now doesnt help then I should see a specialist but I dont have insurance so Im worried about how expensive it would be. I would love to feel normal again but it seems like I can hardly ever go a day without feeling sick with either nasea and vomiting, gas pains with belching, or severe stomach pains. Its horrible. I do feel symapthy for you I hate it when I feel naseated and vomit since you do it on a reglar basis the doctors need to figure out whats causing you to constantly throw up or give you some medicen that will help. Im still waiting for a medicen that will for me. Goodluck!

this sounds a lot like gastritis..maybe one caused by an allergy. the only way to know for sure is to do and ecg....as long as they put you under anesthesia you should be very comfortable. i have it too with similar symptoms. fyi...ensure (if you have lactose intolerance) and applesauce (very acidic) landed me in the emergency room. I would avoid them. good luck!
