I believe you may mean C. diff, a shortened version of the name Clostridium difficile. It unfortunately can be very 'catchable.' There's a good overview at: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/c-difficile/DS00736

Hi there! Sorry to hear that you are battling C-diff. I had that about 30 years ago and the drs. had a very difficult time diagnosing my problem. I spent quite awhile in the hospital on I.V. antibiotics. My gastrointestinal tract has never recovered 100%. Now that I am older, I have issues with gastroparesis, bowel obstruction and colitis. I am certain that the medical field has progressed and will be able to solve your illness quicker and more effectively. Just wanted to say good luck and stay positive! Trixie

Thanks, I will! My brother-in-law got it just before leaving the hospital.
