Is a 90 minute gastric emptying test adequate?

My rural, small hospital's protocol for a gastric emptying study is only 90 minutes.  I'm reading that a 4 hour test is the gold standard.  I don't know whether to go ahead or not.  The study was ordered by my pcp, not a specialist.

That does seem a bit short.  Can you go to a bigger institution?  Insurance would cover that if in your state?
