What started with strep throat seems to be ending with nausea, gurgling stomach, diarrhea, dizziness, etc.

SYMPTOM LIST BY MONTH:

Mid-November:
Sinus pressure, swollen tonsils, feeling that the roof of my mouth is swollen, congestion (sinus), some sneezing, chills, dizziness, extreme fatigue.
*told I probably have strep, never tested. Given a z-pack.

MId-December:
Sinus pressure, very swollen throat, feeling that the roof of my mouth is swollen, sinus congestion, chills, dizziness.
*told I look fine, seems like my tonsils are healing. Given steroids to reduce massive swelling in my throat.

Late-December:
All of the above plus More massive pressure in my head.
*told I seem fine but my doctor has also been struggling to beat similar symptoms and she suggests taking levaquin.

Early-January:
less sinus pressure, runny nose, sneezing, stomach pain, sinus congestion, headaches, dizziness, fatigue, very swollen tonsils and throat feeling that the roof of my mouth is swollen, very thristy.
*told that I am just under stress and that there is nothing physically wrong with me. I am given a blood test with a check for mono.

Mid-January:
Extreme Nausea, throwing up, dry heaves, diarrhea, stomach cramps/pain, headache, sinus pressure, dizziness, fatigue, some shaking, extreme thrist.

I have not returned to the doctor because I don't want to be told I'm "FINE" again. Although no tests have found results I am sick! I am experiencing these symptoms and I don't know what to do.

MORE DETAILED ILLNESS HISTORY:

I have been sick since November 2009. Before Thanksgiving I went to the doctor and was given a z-pack. I missed one day of the pack so I double up the next day.  I was told that I probably had strep throat although I was never tested for anything. The doctor said I should just rest and the z-pack should clear everything up.  It did not.

I never really recovered from this and continued to feel sick. I went to a different doctor around the first-second week of Dec 2009 and I was given steroids. I took all of the pills without missing a beat and felt GREAT!  Two days after I had finished the pack (Christmas 2009) I was right back to where I started. Completely ill!

I went to yet again another doctor and she gave me levaquin. I took all but three pills and by this point I added new symptoms which were extreme: nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. I thought I was dying. (I think it was a reaction to the antibiotics).

I then went back to the same doctors office that I went to in November of 2009 but saw a different doctor. (It is now January 2010). He says it is STRESS!  But I am given a blood test anyway. The whole reason I went to the doctor was because I woke up around 3am feeling like my throat was closing up. I took some ibuprofen and went back to sleep. When I woke up I looked at my tonsils and they were nearly touching and it was very hard to swallow.

A week later I am told that my blood test came back fine, no mono or other issues. The only thing that was slightly off was the size of my blood cells but the doctor said I was still within the normal range.

THAT DAY (January 20, 2010) I eat at Chic-fil-a.  It was about 1030am and this is the only thing I would eat that day. As soon as I got home I started to feel intense nausea. I then thought I would have a bowel movement. Then I realized it would be both! I was throwing up all day long. I was dehydrated but was having a hard time keeping anything down.

Since then I have been constantly thirsty. When I told the doctor about it on the 20th when I got my test results he just said I needed to keep drinking water....well really!? But no matter how much I drink I am thirsty and if I drink water on an empty stomach I become severely nauseous!

I don't know what to do. Right now I have a headache, my stomach is gurgling. I have had some small, solid, bowel movements today and threw a tiny bit up. I have been dizzy and very nauseous all day.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME?!

Do research on autonomic dysfunction.  Sometimes after someone has been sick(ie mono or virus) their autonomic nervous system stops working correctly.  There are a lot of symptoms and they can stop and start or rotate making it hard to diagnos.  Dysautonomia can take some people years to get the diagnosis.

My son was diagnosed after 3 years of seeing doctors, who all wanted to label it as anxiety.
Good luck.

I also suffer from lower back pain (in my lumbar spine area). I always have it but I have noticed it becoming worse lately. I also have been feeling more discomfort around my shoulder blades. Again, not sure if this is just from being out of shape or if it is related.

Before all of this I had some blood after each bowel movement. I figured it was hemorrhoids. I still have the problem but it is getting worse. I think I may have anal fissures. Not sure if these are related or just a secondary annoyance.
